Write for us

Golden Music Review welcomes thoughtful pitches from writers with a clear idea for helping readers hear music in a new way. A good proposal has a distinct subject, a reader in mind and an explanation of what the piece will make easier to notice.

What we welcome

We are interested in accessible writing about musical structure, instruments, rhythm, recording and listening. Ideas might explain a concept, compare two approaches or offer a focused listening exercise. We are not looking for broad claims that a style or artist is simply the best.

Shape a strong pitch

Send a working title, a short summary, the central idea and why it suits Golden Music Review. Include a brief note about relevant writing experience if you wish, and identify any sources, permissions or other support the proposed piece would need. Please pitch before sending a complete article.

Send a proposal

Proposals are sent through the Contact page. Choose the editorial question option and include your pitch in the message. We cannot promise publication or a particular response time.

A closer listen changes the picture

We believe good listening is a pleasure you can practise. Small musical details can open a whole new way into a piece.
